New plaster must be properly cured, and any cracks or holes should be patched and sanded smooth before priming with this product. New woods may require an oil-based primer/sealer, and metal surfaces should use a proper rust primer.

After 14 days, the paint can be gently cleaned with a non-abrasive cleaner.
